This is a fictitious story. Maybe!
The owner of a footwear company wanted to expand his / her business into the nearby region and sent two of the most promising, high performing Sales persons to conduct a study. Both came back after a two-week assessment and here is approximately how it went:
Person 1: People haven’t heard or seen even the most basic of footwear. It’s going to cost us time and money to even educate them what it is. I was so upset that I didn’t even feel like talking to these people. I think it’s a waste of resources. Ignore this one -let’s move to another region.
Person 2: I can’t wait to get started. I think the region is a potential goldmine. People haven’t heard or seen even the most basic of footwear. If we can start with the basics, we can actually monopolize the region and the surrounding areas eventually. The folks here have friends and relatives all over the country. If we can win them over, we are in for the long run. How soon can we start?
The next steps taken by that enterprise is hinged on how two different, high performers perceived the same situation. Now if you were to decide, what would you do?
The future is hinged on the texture of our perception. Now expand this to the people we depend / rely on for planning, execution, for day-to-day operations and realising the company vision? Who are we enabling? Can you afford to ignore it, go with the flow? Are you too busy to notice?
Our flagship Learning Experience: the Culture Catalyst Program© (CCP), based on two decades of Organizational Behaviour can help you remove barriers of perception that could be impeding growth. It can help with vision beyond sight.
We use shock & awe, and examples from everyday life to show you how it’s done.
While the program is strongly recommended for C-suites and Upper Management folks, it is equally relevant for current, emerging, future leaders and high potential employees. The details are on our website - Contact us today.
